Why Spend for Brazilian Teak Flooring
If you want to achieve strength and beauty in your wood flooring, you have to spend. Wood as a structural material is usually more expensive than some other common materials. However, the strength it possesses offers years and years of service. Hence, wood is not that costly in the long run.
There are a variety of wood types to choose from. They differ in strength; they differ in cost. As expected, the more durable ones are more expensive; and more often than not, the more expensive ones are the more beautiful types. Examples are the hardwoods. They are, of, course more expensive than softwoods, but among hardwoods, themselves, are varying costs which usually depend on the wood’s Janka (strength) rate.
The exotic hardwoods are said to be the most expensive woods. One of the more popular ones is the Brazilian Teak, which is, in fact, even more expensive than other hardwoods mainly because there have not been many teak trees, probably due to deforestation. Due to the numerous advantages of using Brazilian Teak flooring, still, a lot of people are bent on having teak plank flooring. One outstanding reason is the extreme durability of teak flooring. Teak, which is mostly available in Southeast Asian forests, is a very hard and very strong wood. In fact, it is said that all forms of teak trees are measurably harder than all oak tree samples.
Interestingly, teak, despite its strength, is not very heavy. This makes it easier to build, install and even design. Another equally outstanding reason why teak is the choice for wood flooring is its exquisite beauty. Its color is rich and vibrant; its grain pattern is intricate and interesting; and its finish is bright and evenly applied – which are all typical of any exotic hardwood. In the case of Brazilian teak floors, the coloration ranges from rich but mellow gold to an attractive brownish red hue.
